Romantic Engagement Photos in Manhattan

NYC engagement photos are always a good idea. Casey & Lamont decided to do their session in their old New York stomping grounds of Manhattan. We started around the High Line Hotel (where this beautiful bus, floral install, and bistro table were the perfect unplanned props!) and ended up on the rooftop of their first apartment together that had breathtaking New York City skyline views. Although I live in upstate New York, so many of my clients want NYC engagement photos because they live in the city or used to live in the city, and it holds a special place in their hearts. For me, NYC engagement photos are fun because it is a change of pace from where I live, and there is a magic quality to every street in this gorgeous city. I always tell my NY clients that I am happy to travel in, but I will require them to be a little bit of a tour guide in figuring my way around the streets there. I find we always have a blast at these sessions, and Casey & Lamont definitely made this a fun one for me! Photographing them was easy, carefree, and they looked beautiful and modern with a classic touch. I always love when couples choose to do their sessions in places that have meaning, and these two did not disappoint! I can’t wait to blog their wedding and show just how classic they looked on their special day, too.

The in-between, storytelling images that give the big picture of your wedding day are so important to me in my mission to create images that appreciate with time. I love getting to know my couples and their intricate relationships as well as writing my highlights from their unique day to supplement their photos. Here are some of the weddings I've been lucky enough to document as well as some words about what made their day so memorable for me.
