Robert & Stephen got married on April 27 at Charlie Palmer Upper story in Manhattan, NY. On the drive down to the city, I was unsure how the weather would play out (it was even HAILING on my way!) but eventually the clouds lightened and the sun even peaked through for a good portion of the day. Robert and Stephen got ready together in the beautiful Surrey hotel, and afterwards we headed across the street to do their romantic portraits in Central Park. They then hailed a cab and rode together to Charlie Palmer Upper Story where their ceremony was already set up beautifully for them! I can’t lie, I teared up several times during their cermony (seeing both Robert and Stephen get emotional made it really hard to keep dry eyes.) We did family formals on the balcony after the ceremony as well as a few sunset photos. From then on, the dance floor was open, and I saw Stephen and Robert recite every line from Taylor Swift’s two day old song, ME! (not surprising, though, considering they absolutely LOVE T Swift! We ended the night with a ribbon exit right before Robert & Stephen jumped in their cab and off into the NYC night as newlyweds.
The in-between, storytelling images that give the big picture of your wedding day are so important to me in my mission to create images that appreciate with time. I love getting to know my couples and their intricate relationships as well as writing my highlights from their unique day to supplement their photos. Here are some of the weddings I've been lucky enough to document as well as some words about what made their day so memorable for me.
